Kat DeLuna (birth name Kathleen Empatriz DeLuna) was born on November 17, 1988 in Bronx, New York, USA. She is a popular American singer.
Kat is a native Dominican born in USA, but she grew up in Dominican Republic and she turned back in United States when she was fourteen years old and resided in Newark, New Jersey.
She started her career at the age of twelve when she sang on a stage near Milly Quezada, the Queen of Merengue. Her family returned in America and she attended the New Jersey School of the Performing Arts in Newark when she was fourteen.
Soon after this she took part in forming a vocal R&B group called "Coquette". On April 2004 they became famous after they made the opening act of a Cassidy's concert in New Jersey. At the age of fifteen she won a karaoke conquest after she sang "I Will Always Love You."
She started her solo career after she signed with GMB Music Group and soon after this appeared her first single "Dale Duro!" featuring Jae Millz and Chaka Dee. On August 2007 the debut album was finished and it contained two other successful singles: "Whine Up" and "Am I Dreaming?" Her first album is called "9 Lives".
