Sophia Bush Biography:
Sophia Anna Bush was born on July 8, 1982 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Pasadena, California. The daughter of Charles and Maureen Bush, Sophia is an only child. Sophia originally started acting at her high school, Westridge School for Girls. Theater was a requirement at her school. This was something she was originally irritated about, but she fell in love with being on the stage. In 2000, Sophia was crowned the Pasadena Rose Queen. She attended USC for three years majoring in journalism. At USC, she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She left USC a year early when she got her role on “One Tree Hill”.

In 2002, Sophia got her start in acting with the role of Sally in “Van Wilder”. That same year, she also appeared in HBO’s “Point of Origin” and the independent feature “Learning Curves”. Sophia was originally cast in the role of Kate Brewster in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”. She worked on set for several days, but was deemed ‘too young’ to play the role. The role was recast with Claire Danes. In 2003, she booked guest appearances on “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” (playing Fate Mackenzie) and “Nip/Tuck” (playing Ridley).

Following her guest appearances, she booked her breakout role, the feisty cheerleader Brooke Davis, on “One Tree Hill”. Currently filming the fifth season of “One Tree Hill”, Sophia has kept busy during summer hiatuses regularly booking new movie roles. During the 2004 hiatus, she filmed her first big screen movie role as Zoe Lang in “Supercross”. Keeping even busier with the 2005 hiatus, Sophia filmed both the horror movie “Stay Alive” and the hit teen comedy “John Tucker Must Die”. In 2006, she filmed “The Hitcher” centering on Sophia’s character, Grace, it is a remake of the 1986 horror movie of the same name. Next came “The Narrows” in 2007.

In 2003, on the set of “One Tree Hill” Sophia met actor Chad Michael Murray. They would date for many months, getting engaged in May of 2004. They were married on April 16, 2005 in California. The marriage would last only five months before Sophia announced they were separating on September 26, 2005. Sophia filed for an annulment of the marriage in February 2006.

Sophia loves dogs and currently owns three of them. In her spare time, she enjoys scrap-booking, reading, and hanging out with her friends. One of her favorite TV shows is Law & Order: SVU. During the filming of One Tree Hill, Sophia lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with co-star Bevin Prince (One Tree Hill’s Bevin).
